Nvidia Fx 5500 Drivers

I have a Nvidia Geforce Fx 5500 Graphics Card and by Default windows 7 installed ' Standard VGA Graphics Adapter ' Now i tried uninstalling it and it says to reboot but when i reboot it automatically installs the same vga graphics adapter. I installedthe drivers and software from nvidia but the standard vga graphics adapter over rides it. I tried updating the driver with the driver from nvidia and it says the best driver software for your device is already installed windows has determined the driversoftware for your device is up to date. ' standard vga graphics adapter ' without the proper drivers for my graphics card windows runs like crud. What can i do. I already tried stopping windows update automatically installing device drivers and thatdidnt do anything.

Soon as the computer rebooted it installed the vga driver. Even in safe mode still the same.
