Taking your points in order:I know there was a first generation and a second generation. And the second generation all ways had a screw down crown. Well this one is set up like a old Omega seamaster 300 with a non-screw down crown has a O-ring in the crown when you pull it up to set the time and push it back down it locks the crown also the crown has Eterna logo on it.Depending on how you cut it, there may be four or five or six generations, but yours looks mostly correct for the early to mid-1960s. I'm guessing the inside caseback will read 130 PTX/3 and it has a 1424 UD movement. That model does not have a screwdown crown. I think the ball-bearings on the crown is also correct for these early ones.It does have the wrong bezel insert but it fits.

The brass raft is in bad shape and has serial no 5133513 on the back cover original dial and hands. The dial doesn't look bad to me. It's a good one, as are the hands. That's not such a bad match for the bezel either. Only the pearl stands out of place. The bracelet is a replacement.Has a non-hacking, non-quick set date movement and you can't hand wind it there is only one click when you pull the steam you can change the date by the moving the hands from the 12 to the 8 and back. When the crown locks it will not turn until you pull it up to change the time. The movement shouldn't hack. There is something wrong with the crown, which should have a pull-out-the-crown to pop ahead the date function.

The crown should turn freely when pressed in.When did they start making these 1958? Any one know how to date these or if the first generation had these features or did a get another fake at the NAWCC mart.1958 is the generally accepted first date for the KonTiki line, and I believe the Supers were part of the line at the start. My working hypothesis is that the case serials were sequential, but that Eterna company no longer exists and I have never seen production dates. The original bracelets came with a production date stamped inside the clasp. The one I have most like yours has a 4722xxx case serial and a bracelet dated 1965.

Your case serial number seems too big for my hypothesis, and the casebacks are interchangeable with later models (and of course bracelets, too). There are some replacement parts in yours, but it is very difficult to find one of these earlier versions is good shape.

DescriptionThis is a Gents 1970 Eterna-Matic 1000 automatic wristwatch which has a 1488K automatic movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 5,999,330 which dates it back to 1970.The watch measures 34.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold capped which means a luxuriously thick layer of gold has been applied to the fronts of the lugs and the bezel is solid 14ct gold. There is a little marking to the screw-on case back, where the back has been removed in the past, but overall the condition is very nice for a 1970 piece. The winding crown has the five ball bearings logo.

In 1948, Eterna introduced their automatic movement which contained five strategically placed ball bearings which made the movement very efficient and significantly reduced friction and resistance on the oscillating weight that wound the mainspring. This reduced the wear and tear on internal parts, increasing the watch’s accuracy and useful life. The watch was probably Eterna’s most famous and it was in fact so successful that Eterna adopted the image of five ball bearings as its corporate logo. The lens is in good condition. The signed dial, again with the five ball bearings logo, is in its original finish there is some discolouration to the finish but still very easy to read the time.
